Hexigon Quilt Wall Hanging or Table Runner, n.d. This table runner or wall hanging is long and narrow. The top is comprised of multi-colored and pattered hexagons of various materials that include silk, satin, brocade, velvet and possibly cotton, and are also handsewn and paper-pieced. Backing is machine quilted with dark blue satin affixed to wool batting with fan-shaped quilting. Top is not quilted but is sewn to backing at edges. Piece has turquoise blue binding around outer edge only seen around top sides but the hexagon material wraps over binding at top and bottom. White cotton strip (sleeve) sewn to top back for hanging. |
