Notes |
Costume specialist, Laura Cox, notes that this dress would have been worn to an elegant dinner with long opera length gloves, and is not a "dancing dress" or a flapper dress. "After World War I, the idea of the "working woman" became popular. After 1929, it was more common to see women in a social context." [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocktail_dress] |
