Exempt Fireman's Association Banner, n.d. Bright red cloth banner is rectangular in shape with an inverted arch section at bottom center. Back is lined with a lighter red-colored fabric. Front is bordered with a 1" metallic bronze-colored ribbon. Beneath ribbon along top edge is a 2" bronze-colored metallic fringe. A similar 2.25" fringe is suspended just below bottom edge. Suspended from the bottom two corners on 2.5" cord are matching 5" metallic tassels. A 5.5" x 14" gold-colored horn is painted on the center front of the banner. Above and below the horn in gold 3" lettering that is shadowed by dark and light green is text that reads, "EXEMPT / FIREMAN'S / ASSOCIATION" and in 2.5" lettering below that, "SAN MATEO, CAL." In the center of the inverted arch section at bottom, painted in gold, is a decorative emblem consisting of four flowers that form a cross. Affixed to top of banner are four brass rings through which a brass-colored metal dowel is threaded. Ends of dowel are capped with round brass-colored metal 1.5" finials. Dowel has a center eye screw for hanging and two end eye screws through which a bronze-colored cord with three center loops is affixed. |
