Description |
Framed Religious Needlepoint from the Greer Family Estate. Diagonal stitch yarn needlepoint is mounted under glass beneath a thick off-white mat inside a deep gold-painted wooden frame with a shiny gold geometric inner border consisting of overlapping rectangles. Needlepoint is a kit where the image has been printed onto a screen. Artist has filled in all areas with yarn except except for the flesh areas of the three figures depicted. Image is of a shepherd with a staff and sheep on the left, a tall figure (probably Jesus) in center and a seated female figure wearing green on the right. They are in front of a short building (possibly a manger) with a large white building in the background on right. |
