Plaque includes image of Speckman and a brief biography: "Who would have guessed it? Certainly not his football coaches at Carlmont High School in the early 1970's. Mark Speckman was under-sized but feisty. And there was one other thing: He had no hands, the result of a genetic defect. That didn't stop him. / He later played at Menlo College and Azusa pacific University and coached at the high school and college levels as well. In 1999 at Willamette University, he was named Coach of the Year in the Northwest Conference after leading the team into the NCAA Division III playoffs." |
