Buggy Party in front of Van Court's Studio, c. 1880-1890. Two men and two women are seated in a buggy drawn by two horses, with several other people in the background. Van Court's picture box display in on a pole on the right side of the photo, at the edge of the wooden sidewalk on the left side of the street. There is an archway over the entrance to Schoolhouse Lane and then a building with "P. Cullen" on a sign. Van Court's studio and the entrance archway at School House Lane are decorated with flags, and two "Ice Cream for Sale" signs at the front of Van Court's studio. The building on the left is the home of Ann Maria Neville. Van Court's studio's location is described as being at the corner of Main Street and Schoolhouse Lane, on the west side of Main street at what is, in 2018, the intersection of Middlefield and Main. |
