Capitol Hotel, Redwood City, c. 1895-1905. Sepia-colored photograph of Capitol Hotel, a three-story brick building on Broadway Street between Main and Jefferson in Redwood City. The hotel was built in 1895 and torn down due to damage from the 1906 earthquake. After about 1900, the hotel was named Price's Hotel. The building fills the image and seven men pose along the front walkway. The lower left façade has a sign that reads, "Meat Market." A carriage drawn by two horses appears at lower right. |
