"Lively race for supervisorial past vacated by election of Rep. Bill Royer. Six candidates will appear on the Nov. 6 special election ballot to battle for the 4th District seat on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors left vacnat when Bill Royer was elected to Congress... Former state senator Arlen Gregorio, defeated last November in his bid for a third term in the Legislative, is batting heads with Marco Biagi, a Redwood City councilman, and Clifford Boxley, a longtime political activist...Clifford Boxley is a 40-year-old community human services administrator and an instructor at the College of San Mateo. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from San Jose State University and is now studying for a doctorate in community services administration at the University for Humanisitic Studies at San Diego. He is now a consultant to the Probe Community Center, an anti-poverty program in East Redwood City. Boxley has served on many local regional boards and committees, including the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Metropolitian Transportation Commission, United Way, the NAACP and the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee.
