Untitled [Mesquite and Silva Store], early 20th century. Black and white photograph shows a group posing for a photograph in Mesquite and Silva's general store and saloon in San Gregorio. Six men wearing caps and suits or long coats lean against the bar in a row from left to center, facing the camera. Two men in white coats pose behind the bar at right. The wall behind the bar is decorated with multiple 48-star American flags, and a pool table appears partially in frame in the foreground at lower right. The photograph is mounted to gray cardboard with a black double-line border around the outer edge. See 1998.134C.001. This photograph shows the same image and includes an inscription that identifies two individuals. "Buster Quinlan second from end of bar is under sheriff, Tony Silva far right." |
