Summit Springs House, c. 1850-1880. Horse-drawn wagon with 4 horses. 15 people, none readily identifiable, in foreground and in wagon. Photograph was titled "Huckleberrying Party." Building has three doors and vertical windows on ground floor, 5 square windows on second floor, board and batten walls, and a shake roof with a single metal pipe vent visible at the center of the roof. Summit Springs House was located on the south side of Kings Mountain Road, approximately 0.4 mile east of Skyline. Number "164" hand-written on print in lower left. |
