Silver Gelatin Print, Bing Crosby Family Photograph with Kathryn Crosby and Their Children, 1976. Black and white photograph shows a group portrait with Bing Crosby at center flanked by two women at his side (his wife, Kathryn Crosby and daughter Mary Frances) and two young men behind him (sons Harry and Nathaniel). Crosby wears a dark jacket, shirt, tie, and pants. His hands are placed on his knees and he is looking at the camera. He has a large button on his jacket. Text on the button reads "UNITED STATES OPEN 1972 PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA." Crosby and the two women are sitting on a bench. Katheryn sits on his right wearing a light colored suit and a blouse with a graphic pattern. Mary Frances, on his left, is wearing a fur coat and pants. Her hands are wrapped around Crosby's left arm with her fingers interlaced. Harry and Nathaniel, standing in the back, are both wearing sweaters and pants. The photograph appears to be taken in a studio setting with barren trees in the background. Handwritten in purple ink on the bottom right corner is "To Priscella / all the best / Bing." |

"Bing first met Kathryn at Paramount while filming interior scenes for the movie "Little Boy Lost" in February 1953. Kathryn was 30 years younger than Bing and not Catholic, although she would eventually convert. Bing first proposed to her in November 1954. ...Bing and Kathy said the magic words on Oct. 24, 1957. ... "Kathryn and Bing had 3 kids: Harry (1958), Mary Frances (1959) and Nathaniel (1961)."
