Untitled [Raychem Alyeska Pipeline Construction], 1975. Color photograph shows construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline using Raychem Corporation heat shrink corrosion protection tape. The image shows a length of unwrapped pipe propped up next to a trench in a forest landscape. The pipe extends from the foreground at lower right into the distance at center where it is obscured by trees with orange and yellow foliage. Several yellow side boom crawler cranes are positioned along the pipe at center with two additional bulldozers and one crane parked in the foreground. Several people wearing hardhats can be seen operating the machinery or watching the work nearby. Large mountain peaks appear in the background on the upper half of the image. On the back of the photograph at, "212-10d" is handwritten in black ink above center. |
