Untitled photograph of a barge laying pipes, 1887. Sepia-toned photograph shows a barge floating on the waters of the San Francisco Bay, trailing a line of submarine pipes on wooden rafts behind it. Barge is flat-bottomed with several poles and triangular structures rising up from it. It is in the background of the photo. The line of pipes trails behind it to the photo's right edge, then turns around and trails closer to the camera and across to the photo's left edge. |
