"....Born on a wheat ranch in Madera, Archibald attended Fresno State College and the University of California from which he received his A.B. degree in 1941 and his master's degree in political science in 1947.....taught political science and geography at the College of San Mateo from 1947-58...Archibald's long record of civic service in San Mateo can best be remembered by his involvement with the planning and development of the Hillsdale and El Camino Real interchange; the dredging of Marina Lagoon, and a citywide beautification program..."
