Brass Whistle from Frank's Tannery - Whistle
Brass Whistle from Frank's Tannery. Threaded J-shaped pipe at base. A top of J-shape is a six-sided nut(?), above which are four brass whistles where air flows through and into one of the four various sized brass pipes above. Pipes are connected by a cross-shaped iron piece in two places. Cross piece attaches to a very similar cross piece at the top.

Toothbrush from the Crocker-Easton Estate. Brass child's(?) toothbrush is shaped like an elongated figure-8. Smaller section at top has a recess for holding removable bristles. Curling Iron, c. 1900-1920 - Iron, Curling
Curling Iron has brass handles and steel curling rods. Rods separate at base where one goes through the handle of the other (like scissors). Grips are cylindrical and are etched with a tight basket weave pattern. At top of grips are white ceramic(?) rings.

Gas Pipe Valves, c. 1885-1905 - Valve, Pipe
Gas Pipe Valves, c. 1885-1905. May have been used for cooking or lighting. There are three valves attached to the main piece of brass. One spigot is broken off at the top. The spigots would be turned in order to let gas flow through the brass pipes. The brass on this object is very oxidized.

Morgan Oyster House Brass Door Knob, c. 1870-1900. Round metal doorknob, probably brass, has green patina (oxidized). It has a cross-shaped ornament with a round flower shape in center of cross. In between the cross spokes are bell shaped flowers (tulips). The boarder is a circle of triangles. All of these shapes are embossed onto the surface.

San Mateo County Sheriff's Office belt. Black leather uniform belt (size 40) has basketweave pattern and solid brass, square buckle. Two metal snaps secure buckle to belt; outer snap surfaces are painted black to match belt color.
