Jim Zylker is synonymous with soccer on the Peninsula. At South San Francisco, he was a standout on the soccer field. At Canada College in Redwood City, he was a two-time community college All-American, leading the Colts to two state titles in 1969 and 1970, During the former campaign, he tallied 54 goals, a school record. At San Jose State University, he again was an all-American and set a single-season assist record. He was a member of the 1972 U.S. Olympic Team and he spent two seasons in the North American Soccer League. He was also a women's soccer coach at Canada when the Colts made four state playoff appearances. [2013.025.009] |
