Plaque Bio: "An outstanding quarterback in high scool, college (University of Michigan) and the NFL (14 seasons with four teams), he was an assistant coach with Oakland in the NFL for two years. He then took over the University of San Diego program and guided the school to a 29-6 record over three seasons. Next, at Stanford University, his teams went 29-21. His 2010 Cardinal team was 12-1, winning the Orange Bowl to cap a stunning, four-year turnaround. His next successful reclamation project occurred in 2011, when he assumed control of San Francisco in the NFL. HE led the 49ers to a 13-3 regular season record and was named NFL Coach of the Year." |
