"Ed Berry, a Carlmont High alum, is regarded as one of the finest defensive backs ever to play football in San Mateo County. In 1980 and 1981, he led the Scots to back-to-back South Peninsula Athletic League championships and then matriculated to Utah State where he became an all-league performer. After two seasons in the NFL, he spent eight years in the Canadian Football League through 1995. In Toronto, his team won the Grey Cup, symbolic of the CFL crown." [2009.030.016] On the first play of the first series in that game, he returneda recovered fumble 50 yards for a touchdown. |
