Notes |
During WWII, citizens at home were urged to donate materials like tin cans, rubber, paper, and even cooking fats to the War Production Board, who recycled them into goods to help the war effort. Tin cans were used "for plasma containers, airplane instrument panels, ammunition boxes, morphine syrettes for administering needed pain relief for wounded soldiers."
