Redwood City July 4th Parade, 1968. Color film shows the 1968 Fourth of July Parade in Redwood City, California, produced annually by the Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA). The film is shot looking down on Middlefield Road between Jefferson and Main Street. Recorded on two 8mm reels. Total time 00:40:59 Part one (00:22:11) begins with a view of an American flag on a flagpole with small smoke puffs set off in the background and footage of Peninsula Shrine Club clowns. The parade includes military groups, local figures (including California State Assemblyman Leo J. Ryan), various organizations, marching bands, twirlers, equestrian groups, and colorful floats. Part two (00:18:48) begins with a decorated automobile showing "CAAA" on the hood and continues with content similar to part one. |
