Description |
Raychem Corporation PolySwitch Demo Unit, c. 1970s-1990s. Demonstration unit produced by the Raychem Corporation for PolySwitch, an overcurrent circuit protection product (resettable fuse). The unit is housed in a black plastic case that opens to reveal a panel of switches. The panel has one on-off switch at upper left and two at upper right. "SHORT CIRCUIT" is printed under the far right switch, and "9Vcc" is printed underneath the left-hand switch. A green light bulb labeled "LOAD" and a red lightbulb labeled "OVERLOAD" are set into the panel just right of center. A white plastic receptacle and a small red lightbulb are set in the panel at top center. Yellow rectangular printed lines connect the panel elements. Two orange enamel coated PolySwitch devices are stored vertically at center left in a recessed piece of black foam. The devices can be inserted in the receptacle to demonstrate overcurrent circuit protection. "Raychem" and "PolySwitch" are printed in the panel's lower margin in red and white font respectively. |
