Description |
CA State Parks Jacket, c. 1999-2016. Nylon olive green cold weather jacket with a black plastic zipper. Jacket has a collar, sholder straps and two large button pockets at the waist in the front. At the top of both shoulders are embroidered patches with the California State Park seal. A silver name tag on the proper right chest. On the proper left chest is a small loop with two vent holes. The jacket can be partially unzipped along the sides on the bottom. A ventilation pocket is located under the arm and can be unzipped on the outside and inside. On the inside of the jacket is a removable gray quilted liner. There is an inside pocket on the proper left. The buttons on the pockets and shoulder straps are a silver metal with an embossed image of the California State seal. There is an adjustable elastic strap on the inside of the jacket along the bottom in the back; the same can be found on the sleeves. |

Worn by Julie Barrow as part of her park ranger uniform. She was a docent at Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, CA from 1999-2007 and docent coordinator 2007-2017. She also worked at Ano Nuevo State Park, and the Monterey Bay, Gulf of the Farallones, and Fitzgerald Marine Sanctuaries. Pigeon Point Lighthouse was built in 1871 and is still in operation, and it and the land around it are managed by CA State Parks.
