Notes |
During the late 1950s the State Division of Highways was active in appraising parcels along the Coast Highway in the Edgemar and Pacific Manor communities of Pacifica in order to improve future Highway 1. Note that parcel 14587 became the subject of some controversy involving Governor Goodwin J. Knight and Roy A. Jones, a property owner, represented by the Redwood City law firm Currie, Lebsack and Hanning. This file includes interesting photos of the Coastside businesses that would be taken by the State. (Mitch Postel – 2020) Route 55 and Route 56 were renumbered in 1964 to CA-35 and CA-1 respectively. Shows old alignment of CA-1 in today's Pacifica. (Fred Hansson - 2021) |
