Image of 2016.015.002.3 - Framed Proclamation Commemorating the Production of the One Billionth Foot of Raychem Self-Regulating Heat Tracing Cable, 2008. This document commemorates the one billionth foot of Raychem self-regulating heat tracing cable. Heat tracing cable was first developed and produced by the Raychem Corporation and later sold by Tyco International when it purchased the Raychem Corporation in 1999. 
The document is printed on white paper with "Proclamation" in metallic gold calligraphic font at top center on the page. A title in black ink reads, "In Honor of  /  Tyco Thermal Controls, Redwood City  /  Celebrating the Production of  /  Billion Feet of Self-regulating Heating cables  /  March 14, 2008." Three paragraphs of text follow concluding with, "NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, ROSANNE S. FOUST, MAYOR OF  /  REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Redwood City, hereby  /  commemorate Redwood City's Tyco Thermal Controls for achieving the historic milestone of  /  manufacturing one billion feet of Raychem ® self-regulating heating cables.  /  Date: March 14, 2008." A metallic gold seal for the "City of Redwood City" is adhered to the document at bottom left. The circular seal has a deckled edge with one black and one green ribbon at bottom center. It is signed by: Rosanne S. Foust, Mayor; Diane Howard, Vice Mayor; Alicia C. Aguirre; Ian Bain; Jim Hartnett; Jeff Ira; Barbara Pierce. The document appears in a wooden frame decorated with red and cream mat board.
An employee's event was held at the heat tracing production factory on Bay Road in Redwood City on March 14, 2008. Tyco announced the installation of the one billionth foot of Raychem self-regulating heat-tracing cable at the Bridgeport Ethanol Plant in Bridgeport, Nebraska on September 18, 2008. The event was celebrated by the executive teams of Tyco Thermal Controls and Bridgeport Ethanol LLC.
