Description Plaque commemorating Tyreese Knox of Jefferson High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 25, 1995. Plaque includes image of Knox and a brief biography: "When Tyreese Knox ran the football for Jefferson High in Daly City in the early 1980's, opponents tended to duck for cover. Knox was a man among boys at the prep level. / Knox, who spent his freshman year at Serramonte High in Daly City, set California prep rushing records for yardage (5,217) and touchdowns (78). / His three Jefferson teams, under the tutelage of Coach Ron Fassler, posted a combined 24-9 record. In his senior year, the Indians won the Central Coast Section Division II-North championship. / After his illustrious high school career, Knox went to the University of Nebraska where he finished with 1, 358 yards and 12 touchdowns. He scored three touchdowns in the Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl in 1987 and 1988 respectively."
