Description Steel metal punch die numbers and letters used by Charles Chalman of Atherton between 1945-1952 to place ID labels on vending machines that he owned and distributed. Larger 1/4" dies (A-J) fit inside a wooden base (K) with bored cylinder-shaped openings to hold dies. Smaller 1/8" dies (L-P) are loose. Numbers and letters represented include: "7" (A), "8" (B), "0" (C), "2" (D), "4" (E), "3" (F), "1" (G), "6" (H), "5" (I), "T" (J), "3" (L), "1" (M), "4" (N), "5" (O) and "c."
