Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Carl "Berny" Wagner of San Mateo High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 9, 1999. Plaque includes image of Wagner and a brief biography: "Carl "Berny" Wagner is one of the finest track and field coaches ever to tutor athletes in San Mateo County and the U.S. His San Mateo High School varsity teams posted a 68-7 record in dual meets from 1956-62. At the College of San Mateo, his dual meet mark was 29-2-1 from 1963-65. Later, at Oregon State University, he produced 25 All-Americans in 20 different events. He had six 7-foot high-jumpers, including Dick Fosbury who won the Olympic gold medal in that event in 1968."
