Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Ed Cereghino of Jefferson High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 7, 2000. Plaque includes image of Cereghino and a brief biography: "Ed Cereghino was an imposing 6'2", 2005 lb. picher at Jefferson High School in Daly City. As a flame-throwing senior star, he pitched five no-hitters and struck out 184 in just 110 innings. He received a $100,000 bonus to sign with the New York Yankees in 1951. Unable to break into the dominating Yankees' starting rotation in the 1950's, he returned to his true love, education. He spent 30 years in teaching and administration. He was pricipal at Jefferson in 1968 and 1969." Plaque and induction was sponsored by The Times of San Mateo.
