Description Plaque commemorating Jeff Clark of Half Moon Bay High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 4, 2002. Plaque includes image of Clark and a brief biography: "There are few, if any, Northern Californians who have done more to promote the sport of big wave surfing than Jeff Clark. He is a world-class pioneer in a field which only a select few dare to try. His longtime passion has been challenging the fickle monster surf at Mavericks, located offshore from Pillar Point on the San Mateo County Coastside. Over the years, he has been the guiding force behind an annual surfing contest held at Mavericks which has lured some of the biggest names in the sport to the Peninsula."
