Description Plaque commemorating Glen Smith of San Mateo County Parks and Rec being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 31, 1994. Plaque includes image of Smith and a brief biography: "Glen Smith was a prime mover in the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Department in the 1950s and '60s, helping to build the county's park system and recreation programs into the systems they are today. / He was responsible for parks like Butano, Huddart, Pescadero, San Bruno Mountain and Coyote Point, and programs such as Scouting, sports leagues, beach activities and offerings for seniors and the disabled. / He worked for the county for nearly 30 years and rose to chief of the recreation division. He also played football and basketball at Jefferson High."
