Description Plaque commemorating Rich Morales of Westmoor High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 25,1995. Plaque includes image of Morales and a brief biography: "For Rich Morales, baseball was never a job. It was a joy. As a youngster growing up on the San Mateo County Coastside in the 1950's, he wound up at Daly City's Westmoor High and, later, at the College of San Mateo where his baseball career took off. / His Westmoor teams were regarded as being among the best on the Peninsula during that era. Four players from those teams signed professional baseball contracts. / Morales, a slick-fielding infielder, spent eight years in the major leagues, playing for the Chicago White Sox and the San Diego Padres. / He played in 480 games and collected 205 hits, six of them home runs. He later managed in the minor leagues, leading his teams to three championships. He also was a major league coach for a time."
