Catalog Number RF2007.081
Description Single row horse-drawn Syracuse side-hill walking plow. Plow is iron, painted red, with a small iron wheel, panted green, and curved wooden handles. Red iron cross-piece of handles is notched to place lever, that extends the length of the plow, into one of three settings to adjust wheel position. Blade is shaped like an arrow with the back shaft being bulbous instead of concave. Its two sharp sides allow it to scrape from either side. A smaller second spade-shaped blade sits in front of first (for making furrows?). Plow blade is hinged at base to rotate underneath and switch sides when changing rows while plowing a hillside field.
