Description Plaque commemorating Jim Soden of Terra Nova High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 14, 2011. Plaque includes image of Soden and a brief biography: "Jim Soden is a San Mateo County prep sports pioneer. Beginning in 1975 at Terra Nova, he became one of the first Peninsula basketball coaches to take the female game seriously. Through 1992, he did so and then some, winning 354 games, multiple North Peninsula League titles and a Central Coast Section championship along the way. His girls' program was a certifiable powerhouse during those years. Later on, he coached the Terra Nova boys as well, capturing another 90 victories, a league crown (the school's first) and a league co-championship for the Pacifica Tigers."
