Description Log Cabin Tied Quilt, c. 1900. Hand-stitched cotton Log Cabin quilt has solid yellow center squares surrounded by strips of solid red, solid and printed white and printed reds, pinks, browns, blues and blacks, depending on the block. The blocks are each approximately 5.5" x 5.5" and the quilt has a total of 168 blocks. Quilt has a solid red cotton backing fabric which is folded over to create the binding. There is no batting between the top and backing layers and the two pieces are attached with knots of white or pink cotton yarn which is tied through the majority of the yellow center squares. A white cotton sleeve has been affixed to back for hanging.
