Description Plaque commemorating Ken Reitz of Jefferson High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 18, 1993. Plaque includes image of Reitz and a brief biography: "Ken Reitz, a graduate of Jefferson High in Daly City, was the grand master of the "hot corner" during his 11-year professional baseball career in the National League. As a gifted, quick-handed third baseman, he set the league standard for excellence with a .970 career fielding percentage-best ever in the National League. / His nickname, the "Zamboni Machine," summed up his consistent brilliance during his 1,321-game tenure with the St. Louis Cardinals, the San Francisco Giants, the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates."
