Description Plaque commemorating Loren Lansberry of Carlmont High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 4, 2002. Plaque includes image of Lansberry and a brief biography: "One of the most influential track and field coaches in San Mateo County history, Loren Lansberry became an institution at Belmont's Carlmont High School. He spent 32 years there, retiring from full-time duties in 1988. His track and field teams produced a gaudy 304-31-2 overall dual meet record during his tenure. His cross-country teams were annually among the finest in the Central Coast Section. A U.S. Marine Corps vet, Lansberry pioneered high school classes devoted to fitness, mountaineering and dance."
