Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Con Dempsey of Sequoia High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 19, 2008. Plaque includes image of Dempsey and a brief biography: "The tall, right-handed pitcher was a late-bloomer. In fact, Con Dempsey's potential was barely noticed at Sequioa in the early 1940s. After that, however, things got interesting. Dempsey who served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, matriculated to the University of San Francisco where he became a pitching star. He won 49 games for the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League between 1948 and 1951. He also pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National League."
