Description Plaque commemorating Justin Fitzgerald of San Francisco Seals being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 31, 1994. Plaque includes image of Fitzgerald and a brief biography: "Justin Fitzgerald was a part of local baseball folklore since the turn of the century. He was San Mateo's first professional baseball player - for the New York Highlanders in 1911. He later led the National League in pinch hitting with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1918. Fitzgerald also led the Pacific Coast League in hitting in 1916 and was a consistent .300 hitter with both the San Francisco Seals and the Portland Beavers."
