Raychem Corporation DuraSeal Waterproof Crimp Splices Kit, 1986. Sample kit of three DuraSeal crimp splices in a clear plastic bag with printed product information and installation instructions. The kits were a product of the Raychem Electronics division and were given away at trade shows. The kit contains a red crimp splice with part number D-406-001 for gauge size 18-22, a blue crimp splice with part number D-406-002 for gauge 14-16, and a yellow crimp splice with part number D-406-03 for gauge size 10-12. A rectangular piece of paper in the bag includes product information printed on the front in red and black ink, and installation instructions printed in black ink on the back. The installation instructions read, “1. Select splice of appropriate size. Strip wires 0.3”. Insert into crimp barrel. / 2. Crimp using crimp tool for preinsulated crimps. / 3. Heat splice with heat gun until tubing recovers and adhesive flows.” The crimp splices are short pieces of heat shrink tubing with the ends slightly expanded. The center of the tube contains a cylindrical piece of metal with adhesive lining the interior.
