Description Plaque commemorating Jesse Freitas Sr. and Jesse Freitas Jr. being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 25, 1995. Plaque includes image of Freitas' and a brief biography: "Jesse Freitas and his oldest son, Jesse, helped to put the Serra High football program on the California map in a big way in the late 1960s. Young Jesse threw for 45 touchdowns and 3,802 yards in two years, helping the Pdres to a 17-2 record. The 1968 team, ranked No. 1 in Northern California, averaged more than 36 points per game and featured three future pro-players: Lynn Swann, Tom Scott and the young Freitas, who later led the nation in passing at San Diego State. The elder Freitas, an ex-NFL quarterback himself, accumulated an overall 101-49-3 record at the San Mateo Catholic boys' school, with seven varsity league football titles."
