Description Plaque commemorating Simi Lee of San Mateo High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 5, 2001. Plaque includes image of Lee and a brief biography: "Simi Lee is a pioneer. She has been writing about girls' and women's athletics for a quarter of a century. No one in Northern California has done it longer on a daily basis. At the San Mateo County Times, she has produced an estimated 3 million words on the subject of competitive females. Over her career, she has covered the sporting activities of at least 50,000 Peninsula girls and women. A San Mateo High Schoo; grad, she also serves as a district commissioner for the American Softball Association."
