Description Plaque commemorating Kate Paye being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 23, 1996. Plaque includes image of Paye and a brief biography: "Kate Paye's name is synonymous with winning. As a high school basketball player at Menlo School in Atherton from 1987 - 1991, her teams won three consecutive California state Division V (small schools) championships. / She was the Division V state player of the year in all three of those campaigns. Her prep teams were coached by her brother, John, a 1991 inductee into the County's Sports Hall of Fame. Later, at nearby Stanford University, her teams wound up in the top 10 all four years. / In her freshman season, Stanford won the national title. In her senior season, Stanford went to the women's Final Four and ended No. 3 in the U.S."
