Description Raychem Branded USSR Key Ring and Fob, c. 1976-1977. Transparent plastic key fob with a Raychem branded insert is 1.25" x 1.75" x 0.25" and has an overall rectangular shape. The outer corners are rounded and the opposite side is curved outward to accommodate a hole for a triangular metal ring. The triangular ring connects the fob to a 1" diameter circular split ring for holding keys. The split ring has a hammered pattern on the surface. The rectangular insert of the key fob shows white text on a red background on one side. The text spells out "Raychem" phonetically in the Cyrillic alphabet. The other side shows a liquid crystal thermometer with gold font on a black background. A "C" with a degree symbol appears at center. Heat-sensitive liquid crystals within the key fob change color and numbers appear in a ring around the "C" to indicate temperatures in Celsius. Fixed numbers indicating temperatures in Fahrenheit are printed in an oval around the interior edge of the insert starting with "60" at top center and increasing by increments of two with the last number "86." The location of the heat sensitive liquid crystal numbers in Celsius appear at different locations around the central "C" and correspond to the closest printed Fahrenheit temperature.
