Description Knitted Fragment, n.d. White pentagon shaped piece of material knitted on a knitting machine. Gold string knitted into the material with the white. The base of the pentagon is 9.625in. the bottom left edge is 14.5 and the top left is 12.25in. The bottom right side is 14.25in. and the top right edge is 11.5in. The bottom edge has 1 inch of a different, tighter stitch.

Provenance One of three pieces of knitted material which shows some of the stitches that were created in the knitting factory.
Notes Knitted fabric is "a textile that results from knitting. Its properties are distinct from woven fabric in that it is more flexible and can be more readily constructed into smaller pieces, making it ideal for socks and hats." []
