Description c. 1890 Roofseat Break Carriage. Three seat (six passenger) two horse-drawn carriage is painted black with a red undercarriage and painted red wheels with iron tires. It has light running gear, cut under with reach., splinter bar. Seats are upholstered in brown tufted leather.

Notes [http://199.253.17.48/MultiSeat.html] Break, Roofseat: Adapted from the heavier vehicles used to train horses to harness, the Roofseat Break was an owner driven outing and sporting vehicle. The height of the seats made it popular at spectator events.
