Description American Flag, c.1896-1908. Strips of red and white fabric that have been sewn together to create a striped pattern with red stripes on top and bottom edges. Blue square sewn in upper right corner with 45 white stars sewn onto each side. Stars are arranged in 6 rows and the 2nd, 4th and 6th rows are indented slightly more. Right edge has been reinforced/is a heavier weight and has a length of rope attached to each corner. The top end of the rope is short and has a wooden toggle and the bottom edge has a long length of rope with a loop at the end. Left side is hemmed. Looks to be hand sewn. Printed along the front of the left edge of the flag is some text that reads "R.A.P.".

Notes "The 45-Star Flag: This Flag became the Official United States Flag on July 4th, 1896. A star was added for the admission of Utah on January 4th, 1896, and was to last for 12 years. The Presidents to serve under this flag were Grover Cleveland (1893-1897), William McKinley (1897-1901),and Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909)."
