Description Matalan Post Ceremonial Table Cover, c. 1946-1981. Square purple and off-white table cover. The table cover is all off-white with purple machine sewn onto the top edges. The purple frames an off-white center square 22 x 22in. The purple extends 5.875in. beyond the off-white square. The purple is only attached to the front. The back is all off-white.

"The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is a U.S. organization comprised of men who have served overseas in the military during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War...The VFW was established in 1913, consolidating three organizations created by Spanish-American war veterans. From its inception, the VFW has sought to promote patriotism and national security. Its paramount mission, however, has been ensuring that needy and disabled veterans receive aid." []
