Description Little Angel Needlepoint by Hilaria Sanchez Reed, c. 1850. Cloth needlepoint work under glass with gold wood frame. Stitches include needlepoint, petipoint and one other in blue, red, brown, pink, and green on a black background depicting an angel with hands crossed over its chest surrounded by lillies, violets, roses and various leaves and grasses. Angel is wearing red top and skirt with short sleeves, possibly edged in lace and has blond hair and white wings. Frame is wood in covered in gesso and is painted gold. It has a raised inner and outer border. This was made by Hilaria Sanchez Reed who was a sister of Francisco Sanchez, c. 1850.
