Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Danny Frisella of Serra High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 9, 1999. Plaque includes image of Frisella and a brief biography: "Danny Frisella was one of the greatest pitchers ever to come out of Serra High School in San Mateo and the College of San Mateo. Before his death in 1977, he spent 10 seasons in the major leagues as a relief specialist. His career numbers were: 34 wins, 40 losses; 3.32 earned run average; 57 saves; and 351 apperances. With the Ney York Mets in 1970-71, he was 16-8 with 83 appearances. His 1971 ERA was 1.98, with a dozen saves. The baseball field at Serra is named in his memory. One of the greatest pitchers out of Serra High School and the College of San Mateo, Danny Frisella went on to the major leagues, playing for teams such as the New York Mets and St Louis Cardinals. His career was cut short due to his death in a dune buggy accident."
