Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Linda Gates of Burlingame High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 22, 2004. Plaque includes image of Gates and a brief biography: "A powerhouse on the tennis court, Linda Gates dominated her sport at the high school level in the late 1970s. At Burlingame High School, she led the Panthers to a pair of Central Coast Section team titles. She added a CCS singles chapionship along the way. At Stanford University, she wound up as the school's No. 1 singles player in her senior year. In 1985, she won NCAA championships in both singles and doubles. She became an All-American in the process. She was a member of the U.S. team in the Pan American Games in 1983."
